Pitches. Ever.

THE WHY

Every networking event felt like a waste of a night.

BNI was too structured. Chamber was a pitch fest. Nobody was just bringing trades owners together for a meal and an honest conversation.

I ran a water filtration business and a lawn irrigation company in the North Houston area. I went to the meetings. I gave the 60-second speeches. I collected business cards I never used.

What I actually wanted was to sit down with other guys running trades businesses and talk about real stuff. How are you handling labor? What's working for your Google reviews? How do you price a job when material costs swing 20% in a month?

Those conversations never happened at BNI. They happened in parking lots after the meeting, if you were lucky.

So I'm building the room where those conversations are the whole point.

That room shows up two ways:

📨 The Tailgate

A free weekly newsletter for Texas trades business owners. What's happening in our trade, who's hiring, who's winning. Five minutes. Every Monday at 6 AM.

🍽️ The Trades Room Dinners

Six trades owners at one table. Monthly. North Houston first, expanding to all of Texas. No pitching, ever.

HOW IT WORKS

Three steps. That's it.

The matching algorithm does the heavy lifting. You answer a few quick questions, and you get seated with five guys you'll actually click with — not your competitors, not the same crowd from last year's chamber mixer. Strangers you'll wish you'd met sooner.

01

Book & Take the Quiz

Pick a dinner and grab your seat for $15.99 — that reserves your spot at the table. Your food and drinks are on your own tab the night of, split with the table. Then spend two minutes on the matching quiz. That quiz is the magic — it's why nobody leaves bored.

02

Show Up & Find Out

You won't know who's at your table until you walk in. That's part of the fun. Six guys, all trades owners, all matched to you. No icebreakers, no mandatory intros — just order, eat, and talk about what you actually care about.

03

Stay for the After-Party

Walk over to a nearby bar with whoever wants to keep the conversation going. This is where friendships (and sometimes business) actually happen.

UPCOMING DINNERS

Grab a seat.

Six owners to a table. We keep the tables small on purpose — that's what makes the conversation real.

QUESTIONS

The short answers.

Who's this actually for?
Business owners in the trades. Electrical, plumbing, HVAC, roofing, landscaping, concrete, paint, fence, pool, and everything in between. If you run a trades business and want to meet other guys running trades businesses — without being pitched — you're in the right place.
Is this a pitch thing?
No. There are no introductions, no 60-second speeches, no referral cards, no "what do you do" round-robin. You talk about whatever you want. We've designed this specifically to not be BNI.
What does the $15.99 cover? Is that my meal?
No — the $15.99 only reserves your seat at the table. Your food and drinks are on your own tab the night of, split with the other guys at the table just like any group dinner. The seat fee covers the table reservation, the matching algorithm, and the admin. That's how the restaurants keep liking us.
Who picks who sits at my table?
The matching algorithm does. Your quiz answers — trade, personality, the kind of conversations you'd want to have — get run through the system and you get placed with five guys you'll actually click with. You won't know who they are until you walk in. That's part of the fun.
Can I bring someone?
Yes — as long as they're also a trades business owner. Just have them book their own seat so we can place you at the same or adjacent tables. We keep it to owners to protect the conversation.
Where's the dinner happening?
We pick private dining rooms or quiet corners so your table can actually hear each other. You'll get the restaurant details and the after-party bar as the date approaches.
Can I host a Trades Room dinner in my city?
Eventually, yes. We're proving the format in Conroe and The Woodlands first, then expanding through North Houston and the Texas Triangle. Drop your city and email on the homepage and we'll reach out when we're ready to expand.
